Pleasure to meet you.
I’m a Project Manager, Chartered Surveyor, Consultant and Engineer
striving to deliver exceptional service for my community, colleagues and clients.
I believe that in order to be exceptional, we’ve got to be willing to make ourselves an exception.
In a world where we can be anything, I refuse to settle for mediocrity.
My mission to to be completely incomparable in every possible sense – in physique, mentality and attitude.
If our value comes from our unique traits, then it’s my goal to maximise mine so I can serve you to maximise yours.
A Little Incognito
I'd rather spend more of my time doing good than posting about it - so I carry a very minimal presence on all social channels.
No Time for Waste
Similarly, I don't waste my time on watching TV. I'd rather be having a great conversation or creating something myself.
You Can Set Your Clock By Me
I'm a creature of routine, and I never deviate from it. My day starts at 4:30am with a gym workout, and I never miss a day.
I believe that how you do anything, is how you do everything.
It’s all about the detail.
High definition thinking.
Sanitising each iteration until you’re only left with your absolute best.
Your work should be completely saturated by your effort, and you shouldn’t be able to put any more into it.
Always aiming to overdeliver.
Farming Stock
Being from a farming family, I've learned that there is never any substitute for hard work - and this is an attitude I apply to everything I do.
Perpetual Picker Upper
Even in the days of emails and messages, I've always found there's far more value in a phonecall or in person interaction. If I'm available, I always answer my phone.
Precision is Proficiency
Precision is the key to getting things right the first time. There's a time and place for a randomised approach, but I believe process and precision will always deliver faster results.
I believe that the path to abundance is paved by creation.
I have an innate need to create more than I consume.
Writing; passion projects; engineering; arts.
It’s never about succeeding or failing; it’s the commitment to the consistency, meaning that adding value becomes inevitable.
Classically Trained
I'm a grade 8 classically trained guitarist, playing for around 20 years.
Charitable Creativity
I produce around 10 oil paintings per year on commission, and all are usually gifted or auctioned off for charity.
Booked Up
I'm also a writer; just finished my first book and currently working on my second. I'd rather invest my time into producing evergreen long-form writing, than short-form content which has too little shelf life. Further details of those projects below.
I’m proud to have recently completed my first book project, which is currently undergoing it’s final proof read. ‘Stumble’ is my guide on how to soar after any setback, for those who want to progress without relying medication or therapy.
Stumble is my personal story following a particularly challenging period of my life, and how I devised systems to get myself out of a rut – which I still rely on to this day.
My second authorial is also underway, currently loosely titled ‘Blind Faith’. It details how I’ve developed my belief system to integrate religious faith into an ethos that was dominated by purely scientific-based theory; with the hope it will help others grapple to understand how the two can exist in tandem, and the importance of both in finding peace.
I believe that an uneducated approach can always be corrected;
but an ignorant approach cannot.
I believe that curiosity is the foundation of generosity.
The more we ask, the more we find out.
The more we find out, the more we understand.
And the more we understand, the more we can serve.
Whether it’s for a client or for charitable cause, I approach everything with a tenacity to learn as much as I can; to establish where I can add as much of my value as possible.
Relentless Student
Two degrees and a handful of certifications evidently weren't enough. I have an obsessive curiosity to know as much as I can about as much as I can - I've always got something to read, or a podcast to study.
Meeting People Where They Are
The secret to building rapport, rapidly. I've been fortunate to lead teams of up to 30, and I've never asked any members of my team to do something I wouldn't do myself; and I never will.
Helping others with Open (Source) Arm(s)
I’ve been working on my passion project since 2022, developing parts for children’s prosthetics in my spare time.
The average commercial prosthetic limb can cost well in excess of $20,000. That’s a huge problem for children (and their parents) who require one – as they’ll frequently grow out of it – meaning the custom-made, high cost appuratus is often rendered useless within 6 months.
My designs can be 3D printed for a fraction of the cost, and make something so critical far more financially accessible. I also make my designs open source so other members of the engineering community can collaborate to have the most impact, and facilitate a little normality to those who’ve already lost enough.
I’m currently trying to develop a twin-wall latticed socket to interface the prosthetic to the patient – enabling breathability and greater infection control, as well as a more even distribution of pressure to alleviate pain.
I believe that honesty and transparency are just aliases of kindness.
I believe that the kindest thing you can ever do for somebody is to be honest with them.
Not necessarily saying what they want to hear, but saying the thing that will help them the most.
I believe the best value is realized from improving on flaws – as it not only addresses a defect, but generates additional self-worth in overcoming it.
Ready to Relocate
I'm always seeking new challenges, and currently looking to leave the UK and pursue my next chapter abroad.
Commercially Aware
Operating three businesses myself, consulting on hundreds of others, and consumer of just about any business book or podcast that gets released.
Balance
I'm no advocate of balance; I believe in just filling my time with what I enjoy. Often that includes a little more work than most would prefer to do. To me, it's just about where I can have the most impact - it's just about trying to be an incredible human.
Two degrees, same mission.
Undergraduate studies in Real Estate, qualifying as a MRICS Chartered Surveyor in 2016.
Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, completed in 2022, followed by additional Project Management Certifications in 2022 also (PMI and PRINCE2).
My career to date blends the two disciplines to help clients deliver projects, business strategies and real estate management.
My experience has established a competence and comfort across a multiplicity of disciplines – staff and team management, business management, public speaking, financial analysis and budgeting and many more, in addition to all technical comptencies required for my qualifications.
